Love Real Food Cover Reveal: Exclusive First Look

cover vote

It’s official: cover number two won! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to vote last week. Reading your comments has been one of the highlights of this whole process — I loved seeing your reactions, suggestions, and honest opinions. A surprising number of you confessed to disliking cabbage, which has inspired me to try and change minds about it. Food conversations like these are part of what makes this project so much fun.

For those who want the exact tally, here are the final results from the vote:

FINAL RESULTS: 7445 Votes
Cover 1 – 949 Votes (12.8%)
Cover 2 – 3425 Votes (46.1%)
Cover 3 – 3058 Votes (41.1%)

It was exciting to see that the percentages lined up almost exactly with my own instincts — one more tiny reminder that the community around this work is wonderfully tuned-in. I wanted a bold, vibrant, and inviting image for the cover, and the winning photo of the salad delivers that: fresh colors, texture, and the immediate sense of a satisfying, feel-good recipe. It feels energizing and approachable, which is exactly the tone I hoped the book would convey.

The cookbook will be released on May 16th. That date still feels a bit far off, but the production schedule is moving forward and the release will be here before we know it. Pre-orders are available through major retailers, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and copies can be reserved now for delivery when the book ships. If you’d like more information about the book, there are additional details available on the cookbook’s page on the site.

Chris already pre-ordered several copies to give as gifts, which feels both practical and deeply sweet — and he’s been printing out copies of the final cover to hand out in the meantime. Those printed covers are such a simple, charming way to share a preview with friends and family, and it’s been fun to see people’s surprised and delighted reactions when they see the final image.

This cover reveal has been a reminder of how collaborative and encouraging this community is. Your feedback on the options helped me settle on a design that reflects the book’s tone: honest, vibrant, and centered on delicious, accessible recipes. I appreciate everyone who voted, commented, shared, or simply sent a quick note of congratulations. Your support has made the long, sometimes chaotic process of putting a cookbook together feel rewarding at every step.

Thank you so much for your support! It truly means the world to me. I’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes updates as we get closer to the release date, including a closer look at the finished cover and some sneak peeks inside the book.
