Easy Chili Cheese Dip — just four ingredients that come together in minutes. This creamy, cheesy dip is a crowd-pleaser for parties, potlucks, game day, and casual get-togethers.

Need a simple appetizer that everyone will love? This Easy Chili Cheese Dip is spicy, savory, and gooey all at once. It’s perfect for last-minute entertaining — assemble in minutes, bake or microwave, and serve warm with tortilla chips or crackers. The recipe is forgiving and works well with light cream cheese if you prefer, and most brands of no-bean chili will do the job.

I first learned this version from my mom; she served it on New Year’s Eve and it vanished within minutes. The cream cheese provides a mild, creamy base that balances the zesty chili, while the combination of cheddar and mozzarella gives the top layer a rich, melty, stringy texture. This makes the dip especially satisfying for cheese lovers.

For best results bake the dip until it’s bubbly and the cheese is thoroughly melted; if you’re in a hurry the microwave works too. Leftovers reheat well, making this a convenient option for planning ahead. Serve hot with sturdy tortilla chips, pita chips, or your favorite crackers. You can easily adapt the recipe by adding a few chopped green onions or a sprinkle of taco seasoning if you want more flavor, but the classic four-ingredient version is delicious just as written.

This dip scales easily: double or triple the ingredients for a larger crowd. A 10-inch round quiche pan or pie tin gives a nice balance of cream cheese to chili around the edges, but a square or casserole dish works just as well. If you prefer a milder dish for kids, choose a milder canned chili; for more heat, use a spicier variety or add a few dashes of hot sauce.

Easy Chili Cheese Dip
Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened (light or neufchâtel works fine)
- 1 (10–15 oz) can chili (no beans)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Spread the softened cream cheese in the bottom of a 10″ round pan, pie tin, or similar baking dish.
- Evenly spread the canned chili over the cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella evenly on top of the chili.
- Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the dip is bubbly. Alternatively, microwave on high for 3–4 minutes until hot and melted.
- Serve hot with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables.
Notes
– Canned chili sizes vary by brand; anything roughly 10–15 ounces works. If using a larger can, you may need to spread a thinner layer.
– To add a fresh touch, top with sliced green onions, diced tomatoes, or a dollop of sour cream just before serving.
– Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave for 60–90 seconds or until warmed through. Stir before serving to redistribute melted cheese.
